In 1968 was when Jaguar launched the Series 1 XJ6 which was the finest luxury saloon car in the world, without argument. This was the best car that Jaguar had ever produced and the aficionados knew it. Journalists of the period went crazy over the car’s looks, performance, ride dynamics and affordability, all of which are still impressive even by modern standards.
